Media Communications students at the University of Lincoln will be judging a book by its cover tomorrow (Thursday).


Dave Golder, editor of  the science fiction magazine SFX, will give a lecture on choosing the perfect cover and explain the rationale behind cover design for Future Publishing’s most successful magazine title.


The lecture will take place at 12 noon on Thursday 27th March in the Co-op Lecture Theatre at the university’s Brayford Pool campus.


It has been arranged for second-year Media Communications students but is an open lecture and members of the public are welcome to attend.


Forthcoming speakers in the series include BAFTA award-winning TV director Graeme Harper (‘Casualty’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Spitting Image’, ‘Eastenders’, ‘The Bill’), who will discuss the working processes of the television director with reference to his latest series ‘Bad Penny’ on Thursday 3rd April.


On Thursday 10th April actress and LAMDA tutor Sarah Huntley (‘Wycliffe’, ‘Casualty’) will provide suggestions on how to improve presentational work in all media.


Both talks take place at 12 noon in the Co-op Lecture Theatre.
