International Postgraduate Taught Application Deadline

Please note that international applications for taught postgraduate programmes starting in September 2022 have now closed.

Applying for Postgraduate Study

1. Find your course

Use our course search tool to explore the range of postgraduate courses available at the University of Lincoln. Choose the course you wish to study, making sure you check the entry requirements. We recommend you attend one of our postgraduate events to find out more once you know which course or courses interest you.

2. Check for a closing date

Most of our postgraduate courses have no specific closing date for applications. The majority of our taught courses start in September, although some courses have intakes in January or February. Please allow enough time for your application to be considered prior to the start date. If you are an international student you may need to factor in time for your visa application. We would advise you to apply as soon as possible.

3. Are you eligible for a postgraduate loan or scholarship?

The UK Government provides a system of Postgraduate Master's Loans which enable eligible full-time and part-time students to borrow up to £11,836 (figures for 2022/2023 entry) towards the cost of a taught postgraduate Master’s qualification. Loans are also avialble to support Doctoral level study. Visit our Postgraduate Fees and Funding page to find out more. The University of Lincoln also offers a range of postgraduate scholarships.

4. Research candidates only - compose your research proposal

If you are applying for a research programme, you will need to draft your research proposal. In your application you will be asked to give a description of the topic or theme you intend to research. Start by finding a research specialism that aligns with your interests on our website and get in touch with potential research supervisors.

5. Apply

When you have found the course you are interested in, go to the course page and click ‘Apply Online’ or 'Download Application Form'. If you are applying online you will need to register an account with the us first to proceed using our OneUni system.

Accreditation of Prior Learning

Accreditation of Prior Learning (sometimes called Advanced Standing) is the formal recognition and award of academic credits for skills and knowledge acquired through previous study, work/life experience, or formal training. Credits gained through successful APL applications can enable progression onto higher education courses where applicants might not otherwise meet standard academic entry criteria.

If you feel you have acquired prior learning that can be measured as academic credit, you can apply this during the application process. You will be asked to attach supporting evidence for your APL claim as part of the 'Requirements' step of your application.

We can provide guidance and support throughout your application to the University of Lincoln.
