New students arriving at the University of Lincoln in Hull next weekend will find plenty of entertainment laid on for them as an introduction to university life.
Live bands, party games, a German-style beer festival and an international party night are just some of the attractions being staged at the Cottingham Road campus in Freshers’ Week (Sunday 15th to Saturday 21st September).
The series of events will begin on Sunday evening with a welcome party in the SU bar and will wind down a week later with an R ‘n’ B and hip-hop night.
The full line-up of events is as follows:

Monday 16th Oracle and The Raywells live
Tuesday 17th Lovestruck (party games and general mayhem)
Wednesday 18th Bavarian-style beer festival featuring
The Steinhaus Bierkeller Band live
Thursday 19th Shark (club night)
Friday 20th Around the World seven-hour spectacular
Saturday 21st Vibe (RnB / hip-hop and guest DJs
Lisa Unique and DJ Sassy)
All events begin at 7pm in the Students’ Union bar on Cottingham Road and there will be a late bar on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
“We want everyone to have a really good time as soon as they start at university,” said SU events co-ordinator Lisa Jordan.
“This is the last year we’ll be at Cottingham Road before we all move to the city centre campus and we’re determined to make this one a year to remember.”
The university is expecting over 430 first-year students to arrive in Hull next weekend for the new semester which begins on Monday 16th September.
