A media student from Catfield has earned a £200 prize for her second-year work at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.
Rebecca Downie (20) of Church Road, Catfield, won the Yorkshire Television prize for best TV studio student for a project she worked on as part of her Media Production degree.
She was floor manager on a show which her team produced in the TV studio at the university in Lincoln, one of the high-tech facilities in the university’s £11 million Learning Resource and Media Production Centre.
“As floor manager one of Rebecca’s jobs was to organise the studio audience and make sure that health and safety regulations were adhered to,” said Tony Richards, a Media Production lecturer at the university.
“Considering that there were 100 14-year-olds in the audience she did very well and was extremely professional,” he added.
Media Production has been taught at the university since 1998. In October this year the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside will change its name to the University of Lincoln.
