Get behind the news desk at an evening with David Mannion
David Mannion Former Editor-in-Chief of ITV news, David Mannion has led one of the UK’s most successful news teams and questioned some of the world’s great leaders; now its time for you to ask him a question.

David Mannion will be at the University of Lincoln and taking questions from the public which will provide insight into his career, and reveal some of the secret to leading a Bafta and RTS award winning news team.

The evening will begin with David in conversation with former BBC journalist and University of Lincoln Principal Lecturer Barnie Choudhury, who said he was delighted to have the opportunity to engage with one of the most respected newsmen in the nation.

“David has championed great human interest journalism throughout his career and knows how to tell a great story,” he said.

“This is a guy who was leading a news team which had – at one stage - up to 10 million viewers a night, and someone who can provide some real insight into so many aspects of not only his own career but on the state of journalism in Britain.”

David Mannion is amongst the most respected and experienced international broadcast executives. He is also an established broadcaster in his own right having been a guest on many radio and television programmes and been host of his own political/media show on London's LBC.

After 30 years as an award winning frontline television professional, David recently left his position at ITV news to take up a portfolio of roles.

He is currently advising broadcast news channels on editorial content, production and ethical issues. David also provides discreet advice to corporations and high end individual clients on all matters relating to the media including crisis management.

David is a Fellow of the Royal Television Society and a recipient of its prestigious Judges Award for services to broadcast journalism. He is also a visiting professor at the University of the Arts in London and an Honorary Doctor of Letters of the University of Derby.
