Professor Tulloch said: "John has been an inspiration and constant support for us since the founding of the Lincoln School of Journalism. In his passion and lifelong commitment to expose injustice and abuse of power and to take the side of the oppressed he serves as a model to us all. It was no easy task writing a citation for a writer, teacher and film-maker as gifted as John but I was very proud to be invited to do it."

John Pilger opened the Lincoln School of Journalism in 2004 and was given an Honorary Doctorate of Arts by the University of Lincoln in 2008. Most of his 58 documentaries, a huge selection of his print journalism and material about his numerous books is available on the website, which is supported by the Lincoln School of Journalism.
