Last minute decisions to apply to university are made possible through Clearing. University of Lincoln graduate Sophie Gayler saw Clearing as the perfect opportunity to make a decision about her future.

Sophie took a gap year after completing her A-levels and travelled to South Africa to explore and contemplate her future plans. When Clearing came up in August she saw it as an ideal opportunity to make a decision about her education and decided to enrol on a university course.

She chose to study for a degree in Public Relations and although she considered several other institutions, the University of Lincoln was her first choice.

“In terms of location and convenience the University of Lincoln was perfect. It is ideally situated right in the heart of a student-friendly city, and for me, the university’s Public Relations degree was exactly what I was looking for,” she said.

Once she had made her decision to go to the University of Lincoln, Sophie went through Clearing. She said: “I found Clearing to be a really easy process. I rang the university and they were really helpful and supportive. It was all sorted very quickly.”

Sophie graduated in September last year and within two months of graduating; she landed her ideal job in a busy press office. “My job is a great stepping stone, and will certainly help my career to progress in the PR industry.”
