STUDENTS BRING MUSIC TO OUR EARS

Two University of Lincoln students have recorded and produced an album for the well known Hull singer/songwriter Dave Wilkinson.

The album is called Work in Progress and was recorded and produced by third year Audio Technology students Tim Bowman and Elizabeth Holmes at the university’s Hull campus.

The students used Dave’s original material to produce the album. Tim handled the audio engineering side and Elizabeth mixed the final album.

Elizabeth said: “We worked together well as a team. We each learnt different skills from the experience, I learnt how to confidently operate a recording studio and we both learnt how to deal with an artist in a professional manner.

“Tim currently spends his spare time organising and engineering gigs with his dad and I have another album to produce when I finish university.

“The album has been entered into the BBC Raw Talent showcase awards held on May 18th at the university’s Saville Lecture Theatre in Hull.”

Work in progress is Dave Wilkinson’s second album and it has already attracted airplay in America as well as being played on BBC Radio Humberside.

Work in Progress is available for sale in Hull’s HMV music store, online at www.cdbaby.com or via Dave’s myspace page www.myspace.com/davewilkinson
