HOPPING FOR CHARITY

(PHOTO OPPORTUNITY)

Two University of Lincoln students will be dressing up as rabbits and living in a cage for eight hours to raise money for UK Cancer Research.

The pair will be at the university’s Riseholme campus on the animal unit from 9.00am until 5.00pm on Thursday 14th December.

Liz Nagel (17) and Katy Hopkinson (19) are both from Lincoln studying at the university’s Riseholme campus. Liz is studying for a National Diploma in Animal Management and Katy is studying for a National Award in Kennels and Catteries.

So far they have raised £500 for the charity. Visitors to the animal unit can help them to raise money by paying £2 to take them for a walk and 50 pence to feed them or by sponsoring them for the day.

Jon Hardy, a lecturer at Riseholme Park, said: “Katy and Liz have worked very hard to raise as much money as possible for UK Cancer Research. The idea is unique and we are hoping it will be a successful day.

“Liz and Katy have had a lot of fun raising the money and Thursday is all about them having fun and raising awareness of their charity.”

Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend. Please call the university’s press office for more details.
