The University of Lincoln has achieved the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant’s (CIMA) highest level of quality accreditation.

The recent award of ‘CIMA Learning Quality Partner’ means that the university has been identified as providing continued excellence on its CIMA programme.

The CIMA is a leading membership body that provides a professional qualification in management accountancy, which is recognised worldwide.

To achieve the accreditation, tuition providers had to demonstrate excellence in course delivery, student support, results, innovation, improvement and knowledge of the market.

The university’s CIMA programme has been delivering tuition to students for many years and the recent award means that the university will be recognised worldwide as a quality partner.

The CIMA qualification develops students’ skills in decision making, management, strategy and analysing. Career paths for people with the CIMA qualification include financial services, consultancy, government, public sector or manufacturing.

Tim Thompson, programme leader for the CIMA course, said: “The achievement of this accreditation is the outcome of an excellent team effort, both on the day of the visit and in terms of the sustained delivery of a quality programme over the years.

“It was particularly pleasing to be advised of the very positive comments that the students fed back to the assessor.”
