Two Media Production graduates from the University of Lincoln are racing up the career ladder after landing themselves jobs at Birmingham-based shopping channel ‘Snatch It’.

Katie Benson from Congleton, Cheshire and Jill Greenwood from Farsley, West Yorkshire have taken up the posts of technical operator and floor manager at the channel.

The girls graduated from the university at a special ceremony which was held on September 16th.

Katie’s new role includes aspects of camera operation and sound and vision mixing, whilst Jill will be in charge of action on the set.

“This job is a great stepping stone into my career as a media professional,” said Katie.

“We wouldn’t have landed our jobs if it wasn’t for the Media Production course. The workshops and practical lessons have been very helpful.”

A spokesperson for the University of Lincoln said: “We are very proud that two of our graduates have done so well, particularly since they graduated so recently. We wish them both the very best of luck.”

The girls’ contributions to the ‘Snatch It’ shopping channel can be viewed by Sky viewers on channel 646.

‘Snatch It’ is owned by jungle.com founder Steve Bennett, who sold the internet shopping website to buy his own chain of TV shopping channels. The latest channel, ‘Gems TV’, was officially launched today.
