Seven Chinese students at the University of Lincoln will have a double reason to celebrate next week.

They will be at Lincoln Cathedral on Wednesday 21st January to receive their MBA (Master in Business Administration) certificates.

And that evening they will continue the festivities by celebrating Chinese New Year’s Eve.

Chai Da Qing, Hu Yan, Yao Xing Wen, Zhang Yueying, Wang Qing, Ning Jiang and Cai Lin Huan have all completed their MBA at the Lincoln Business School, part of the University of Lincoln.

They will join around 140 postgraduate students who will receive their awards at the university’s winter postgraduate awards ceremony, which will begin at 11.30am on Wednesday.

The following day – Thursday 22nd January 2004 – is the first day of the new Chinese year of 4701, the Year of the Monkey.

The 12 animals which represent the Chinese years are the rat, ox, tiger, hare, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and boar.
