21st November 2003

Want to find out about local job opportunities? Interested in setting up your own business?

Students and graduates in Lincolnshire are being given the chance to find out about local job opportunities at a careers fair being held at the University of Lincoln next week.

The Business Champions careers fair, which is being held in conjunction with the careers service and Commercial Partnerships at the university, will take place on Thursday 27th November 2003.

Students will be given the opportunity to chat informally with local employers, join workshop sessions and have their CV reviewed.

The workshops, which will be running throughout the day, will cover topics such as how to go about setting up in business and how to present yourself at job interviews.  There will also be a CV health check where business people will be on hand to review your CV.

Representatives from a wide range of smaller businesses will be attending the fair, which aims to encourage undergraduates to consider smaller business enterprises as a significant employment option and stimulate awareness and understanding of running a business.

Business Champions are business people; working alongside the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) they volunteer their time to support enterprise in the region.

The fair will take place between 11am and 3pm in the Alstom Atrium.  Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.  For full programme details and specific information on workshops please contact careers services on 01522 886722 or go to the following website, www.lincoln.ac.uk/studentservices/careers
