The University of Lincoln has unveiled bold new plans for its farm business at Riseholme Park.
Riseholme Park Farms Ltd is to be restructured to make the farm business more suitable for the needs of students of land-based courses.
“We now have more students using Riseholme Park than ever before, but we need to make sure that the farm business suits the needs of the modern student,” said Clive Bound, Director of Riseholme Park.
“That has meant re-evaluating the way we use some of the land here and making sure that the commercial activities we undertake are relevant to our academic programmes.”
Following a business review carried out by Philip Wynn, Managing Director of Aubourn Farming, the university has agreed a restructuring of Riseholme Park which will include:
“Academic staff have played an important role in this review and their input means that by the end of the process we will have a facility fit for the 21st-century educational needs of our students,” said Mr Bound.
