10th October 2002

Staff at the University of Lincoln in Hull are delighted by the attendance at the university’s open day at their Hull City Centre Campus last weekend.

Over 130 visitors arrived at the George Street campus to find out more about the programmes on offer – an increase of 10 per cent compared to the same time last year.

Among the most popular programmes were Animation, Computing, Media Technology and TV and Film Design but students attended presentations on everything from Games Design to Graphic Design and Illustration to Child Studies.

“This is the first time we have held our general open day at the city centre campus,” said Nick Sandham, marketing manager for the Hull campus. “It allows us to show the visitors all of the facilities available to them at the university in Hull and also introduce them to many benefits of Hull city centre.

“It is good to know the numbers have increased and the team are working hard to ensure they will continue to do so.

“Our next open day is on Saturday November 16th, so if people want to find out more about what we offer, please call in to see us.”

All the university’s courses in Hull will be based at the newly refurbished City Centre Campus – George Street and Queens Gardens – from September 2003 while the University of Hull moves on to the Cottingham Road campus.
