UNIVERSITY VENUE FOR REGION’S LARGEST HE FAIR

Approximately 6,000 students from across the country will be heading for Lincoln next week to attend the region’s largest higher education fair.

The event is being organised by Connexions Lincolnshire and Rutland and will be held on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March at the University of Lincoln’s Brayford Campus.

The day is aimed at people interested in studying higher education.  “The majority of visitors will be sixth-form students, but it is also open to mature students and is an ideal opportunity for them to see what options are available to them,” said John Herbert, team leader at Connexions and organiser of the event.

Over 130 stalls will be in the university sports hall representing universities from all over Great Britain.  Specialist stands will provide information on UCAS, gap years and occupations such as teaching and the Royal Navy.

Over 40 different talks will be given to provide prospective students with information on funding, courses, university life and how to fill in their UCAS form.

“Last year was extremely successful,” said John.  “The day was so popular that we have decided to run it over two days this year and give people the chance to attend all the talks that interest them.”

University Student Recruitment Manager Jacqueline Mayer added: “This will be the third year the university has hosted the fair and we hope it will again prove popular with students.”
