The Policy Studies Research Centre at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside has received its biggest research grant yet.

The Confederation of  Co-operative Housing has given the centre £142,313 to fund regional and national research into best practice in community control for registered social landlords.

The aim is to help social housing tenants develop their own community-led solutions to housing-related problems, particularly in ethnic and rural communities.

“This is by far the biggest grant we’ve received so far and we’re extremely pleased,” said Policy Studies Professor Peter Somerville.

“The research fits in with the university’s aim to provide locally relevant research as we’ll be working with tenant groups in Lincoln as well as national ones.”

The Policy Studies Research Centre was set up in 1995 to conduct research into a range of areas from gender, race and disability to poverty and social exclusion.
