Sporty students at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside need a helping hand from local firms before the start of the new season.

They’re looking for kit sponsorship for the 11 teams which run from the Lincoln campus, including men’s football, rugby league and rugby union and women’s football, tennis and badminton.

“Buying kit for all our sportsmen and women is an expensive business and we rely on local firms to support us,” said Antony Calvert, Vice President (Sports and Recreation) at the ULH Students’ Union.

“Local businesses which offer to provide a kit for one of our teams will benefit from a whole season of high-profile advertising.”

The students are looking for different levels of support ranging from £60 for the badminton team to around £2,000 for the football team.

Sport at ULH has an even higher profile now that students have the use of the new

£5 million sports and leisure centre which opened last year.

Last season the men’s rugby league team at ULH won the title and were promoted to the Student Rugby League Premier Division, while the men’s hockey and women’s  football teams only narrowly missed out on promotion.

Local businesses who are interested in providing sponsorship for one of the university sports teams should call Antony Calvert at the Students’ Union on 01522 886434.
