NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK AND THE INTERNET

Take part in free-of-charge ‘Introduction to the Internet’ sessions at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside as part of National Science Week (16th – 25th March).

The sessions which begin on Friday 23rd March at the Cottingham Road campus in Hull are aimed at more mature adults who may be intimidated by the Internet or who simply want to know what all the fuss is about.

“The Internet is fast becoming a main lifeline for communication, information and retailing,” said Dr Trudy Harris of the university’s Department of Engineering. “However, many people are intimidated by the technology, especially the more mature adults.”

Through the use of interactive exercises including shopping on-line, setting up e-mail accounts and Internet treasure hunts, the sessions should put an end to any confusion.

Sessions will run on Friday 23rd March, 9am to 12pm, 1pm to 4pm, and Saturday 24th March,10am to 1pm. Those interested in taking part should contact Jacqueline Mayer on 01522 886046.
