The annual networking event for student journalists will take place at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside for the first time next month.
The two-day Student Press Association spring conference and annual general meeting is to be held at the university’s Lincoln campus on Saturday 7th April and Sunday 8th April and is aimed at all those with an enthusiasm for student journalism.
The nationally recognised organisation set up and run by student journalists to support student newspapers has worked closely with the ULH Students’ Union to organise the event.
“The conference is a great chance for students and journalists to exchange ideas,” said Georgie Hadjigeorgiou, deputy president of the ULHSU. “Any student can attend - you don’t have to be an editor of a student magazine.”
Students will be able to take part in workshops run by lecturers at the university and journalists from the FT’s student magazine, Strapt for Cash, on everything from investigative reporting to photography and media sales.
The event costs £5 for SPA members and £15 for non-members. Contact Georgie at the Students’ Union office on 01522 886142 for a booking form or view the SPA website – www.studentpress.org.uk
