A promotional event in the Waterside Centre next month aims to raise awareness of the range of health services available to people in Lincoln.

Health Studies students from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside will be advertising the free services that are on offer locally as part of a seminar project.

“A practical health promotion is more interesting and more beneficial for the students than a discussion in a seminar group,” said Health Studies lecturer Nicole Kent.

“The students are all trying to find information on services available and then coming up with different ways of promoting these services to various audiences.”

Seventeen second-year Health Studies students will man a promotional stand from 10am until 2pm on Monday 3rd April promoting services relating to:

·     healthy eating

·     no smoking

·     services for the elderly

·     women’s sexual health

·     screening services

“We’re doing our best to provide information, and it would be nice if a lot of local people came along to support the event,” Nicole added.
