RED LETTER DAY FOR GRIMSBY STUDENTS

Students in Grimsby will be celebrating on Monday (19th July 1999) when they collect their University of Lincolnshire & Humberside degrees at Grimsby Auditorium.

The university’s Grimsby graduation is being shared with students from Grimsby College who will be at the auditorium to receive their BTEC (HNC and HND) and degree certificates.

Grimsby College is an associate college of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside and runs courses franchised by the university.

The Mayor of North-East Lincolnshire, Councillor George Mitchell, and the Mayoress, Mrs Janet Jones, will be guests of honour at the graduation ceremony, which begins at 3pm.

For around 250 students the event will be the culmination of years of study in courses including Food Science, Food Technology, Environmental Studies and Environmental Science.

“Monday’s ceremony will be a memorable event for staff, students and guests,” said a university spokesman. “It will be a splendid occasion and a fitting way to congratulate all our students on their hard work.”
