PART-TIME STUDY COULD BE FOR YOU

Thousands of teenagers up and down the country have spent a nervous week waiting to see if they’ve succeeded in getting into university.

But not all university courses are full-time degrees aimed at school-leavers. Many mature students take part-time courses in subjects from Business Studies and Computing to Fine Art and Interior Design.

If you’re thinking of returning to education - either because you want to update your skills or because you’re simply interested in learning - then a part-time course at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside could be right up your street.

The university has this week published its new guide to part-time study at its Hull campuses. Inside you’ll find details of all the part-time programmes which can be studied in the city, including Marketing, Architecture, Social Work, Engineering and a great deal more.

Not everyone wants to study for a formal qualification - some students may simply wish to learn for their own pleasure. One particularly useful course being offered at the Cottingham Road campus is ‘Mastering the Internet’, which features hands-on sessions using the university’s extensive IT facilities.

The new brochure also gives important information on timetables, how to enrol, the length of the courses and the fees levied.

Evening courses are timetabled between 6pm and 7.30pm and between 8pm and 9.30pm, though some daytime schedules are timetabled between 9am and 5pm.

You can come to Cottingham Road to enrol on part-time courses on Tuesday 5th September, Thursday 7th September and Wednesday 13th September.

“The range of programmes which can be studied part-time in Hull is expanding all the time,” said spokesman Jez Ashberry. “Anyone who feels that they would like to return to education should not hesitate to call the university’s marketing department on 01522 886097.”
