More than 3,000 sixth-formers will descend on Hull on Monday 19th June for the Humberside Higher Education Fair.

The annual event will bring many of the East Riding’s 17-year-olds to the Cottingham Road campus of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, where they will be able to find out more about almost 100 British universities and colleges.

This is a major part of the education year in the city and is the opportunity for local teenagers to find out the answers to all their questions - from how to apply to taking a year out before beginning a degree.

The fair is one of almost 50 similar events that take place nationwide and spread the word of HE around the country. The Humberside fair, organised by the Humberside Partnership, has been hosted by ULH for more than 10 years.

A huge marquee will house an exhibition of all the institutions represented, with subject talks taking place around the campus. “There are enormous benefits to having all the institutions under one roof,” said co-organiser Jacqueline Mayer, the university’s Education Liaison Manager.

The University of Lincoln is also the venue for the Lincolnshire Higher Education Fair, previously hosted by De Montfort University and held for the first time this year at the Brayford campus in Lincoln.

Note to Editors
