Environment Minister Michael Meacher MP will be in Lincoln on Tuesday (7th September) to deliver the keynote speech at the Environmental Technology Forum at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside.


The event, which has been organised jointly by the university and the Lincolnshire TEC Group, is expected to attract around 250 delegates. It is due to begin at 9am and end at 3.15pm.

The Environmental Technology Forum will combine presentations from key policy makers and experts in the UK and Europe with practical workshops and an exhibition of the latest innovations in environmental products and services.


Among the key speakers and guests at the event will be:


     Rt Hon Michael Meacher MP, Minister of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions

     Carla de Vries-Hess, principal administrator in the Environment Department of the European Commission

     Godfrey Bevan, Director of Energy Technologies in the Department of Trade and Industry

     Mark Shardlow (chair), environment correspondent for BBC East Midlands

Workshops throughout the day will focus on waste minimisation, emissions trading, sustainable management systems, contaminated land remediation, recycling and composting and the use of waste as a secondary raw material.


Lincoln MP Gillian Merron will meet the minister at the university on his arrival at approximately 2.15pm.
