A South African academic is visiting the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside this week to give teachers and headteachers an insight into the country’s education system.

Dr Stella Kaabwe is a Zambian teacher currently based at the University of Natal in South Africa. She will give her address on Thursday to education professionals from around the county who have been invited by Prof Angela Thody of the university’s education leadership centre.

Dr Kaabwe is a well respected voice in South African education, and she and Prof Thody are currently awaiting the publication of their joint work on access to education in Africa.

All primary and secondary school headteachers in the county have been invited. Prof Thody is expecting about 40 to attend but there are still places available for the lecture, which begins at 5pm at the Lincoln campus. For more information call Geraldine Bristow on 01522 886190.

There will be a photo opportunity on Thursday 16th September in the vice-chancellor’s annexe on the second floor of the main building. Dr Kaabwe will be available for photos between 4.45pm and 5pm.
