16th August 1999

A former training manager with the Lincolnshire Regional Access Centres (LRACs) will present certificates to students from the Market Rasen, Horncastle and Mablethorpe area on Wednesday (18th August).

Roy Davis, who now works in the Centre for Access and Lifelong Learning at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, spent two-and-a-half years as the training manager for the four county-wide LRACs.

The students, who are of all ages and backgrounds, were on an access course designed to prepare them for studying at degree level.

As part of their course, they studied the university’s own Effective Learning Programme which teaches the essential study skills university students require to get through their course, including time management.

“I’m honoured to be presenting these awards, which are the result of some very hard work,” said Mr Davis, who has been with ULH for three months.

The students gained their qualifications through C G Associates in Market Rasen who use the LRACs facilities in the town to run part of the access course.

Mr Davis will present the awards at Holy Trinity Church, Louth, at 11.30am on Wednesday.
