Local learning with unlimited horizons is the theme of the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside’s display at this week’s Lincolnshire Show.


‘Learn Local, Think Global’ is the catchphrase at the university’s marquee, where a range of experts will be dazzling visitors with displays of science, technology and creativity.


Journalism and Media Production students from the Lincoln campus will be teaming up to send a continuous ‘audiocast’ across the globe via the Internet.


Experts from the History department will be giving members of the public the chance to try their hand at flying a Second World War bomber thanks to the latest in virtual reality technology.


The university’s Engineering department will also be at the show, demonstrating a range of student projects including a display of computerised Lego robots. And Learning Support will be showing off IT technologies and giving the public free access to the Internet.


The university’s marquee will also features displays by the Lincoln School of  Management, the Lincoln-based Centre for Applied Development Studies, the Lincolnshire Business Development Centre and the university’s Department of Illustration.
