10th May 1999

The University of Lincolnshire & Humberside will be encouraging adults go back to school during Adult Learners Week later this month (17th - 21st May 1999).

Members of the public will be able to visit the university’s Brayford Pool campus on 19th and 20th May for free taster days aimed at tempting adults to continue their education.

Visitors will get a look behind the scenes of a TV studio if they attend ‘Live on TV’ or find out how a radio broadcasting suite works by attending ‘DJ for an Evening’.

Both events will take place in the university’s Media Production Centre between 6pm and 9pm on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th May.

On the Wednesday the university will be offering taster sessions in history, criminology, politics, law and many other areas of study. The Advice and Information Centre will also be open from 6pm until 7.30pm to answer questions from members of the public.

The following day the university will be offering advice on degrees based on work experience, countywide access to higher education, the Certificate in Contuing Education for those out of work and tourism by distance-learning. Events take place in the Jackson Lecture Theatre from 6.30pm onwards.

If you would like to attend or find out more about Adult Learners Week, or if you want information on part-time courses, contact the university’s marketing department on 01522 886097 or 886043.
