Film Production is designed to develop the next generation of innovative filmmakers. It offers you the chance to gain experience in all areas of the film production process, working with industry-standard facilities, equipment, and software. It introduces a range of skills in directing, producing, screenwriting, cinematography, sound recording, and editing, while allowing you to develop an understanding of film theories and film-making.

If you're looking to become a creative media practitioner, Media Production at Lincoln offers a comprehensive experience across the many platforms of today’s creative sector. You can explore the mediums of TV and screen, new emergent digital media and design, radio, and sound and the course blends theory with practice so you can investigate techniques and craft in a range of related areas. During the programme you can work on live project briefs and gain hands-on experience that aims to prepare you for the industry.

Lincoln graduates have worked on blockbuster films including Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Spectre, and Ready Player One. They have also worked on TV programmes including Gogglebox and Blue Planet II.

Our Related Courses

At Lincoln, we also offer a range of related film and media courses that aim to examine the power behind these mediums. Film and Television Studies is a theory-orientated critical studies degree, enhanced by opportunities for creative and professional development. You can gain an understanding of key concepts of the discipline, providing an overview of the theory, history, and analysis of film and television. You'll have access to industry-standard production facilities, including television studios, video editing suites, a writers’ room, and a 20-seat 4K screening room.

If you're interested in exploring the role of media in a contemporary digital culture, Media Studies interrogates the transformative and pervasive aspects of the sector. You can critically examine the everyday uses of social media, smartphone apps, and networked devices that foster user generated content across a variety of contexts, as well as investigate the ways traditional media such as film and television have been transformed by digital processes.
