The Event Tourism Sustainability session focuses on the practical application of sustainability concepts and protocols in event tourism management, where the main motivation for tourists is attending events. The workshop expands the student understanding of complex issues such as greening the events and tourism industries key debates, event tourism sustainability in practice and green gamification. Sustainability is at the top of the Covid19 tourism recovery agenda. Rethinking tourism after COVID-19 is a massive challenge. This session explores how this can be achieved for one of the most significant and highly lucrative niche types of tourism - event tourism.

Planning, compiling, and communicating operational information to event stakeholders is an extensive task and one that requires an immense amount of focus from event managers. This session will discuss methods of best practices around how to strategically develop direct and impactful information to ensure the logistical success of an inner-city live music festival.
