To help you in your search, our Accommodation Services Team are here to help and will be able to answer any queries you have about the range of options available to you - simply complete the form or call the number listed further below on this page.

Applying for Accommodation FAQs
Do First Year Students Live Together?
Our Cygnet Wharf accommodation is first-year only and across all other residences, first-year students are allocated together.
What Accommodation is Available?
Across seven purpose-built residences, we offer a variety of en-suite, studio, and shared bathroom rooms in cluster apartments.
Can I View the Accommodation?
We have three show apartments which can be toured during our in-person events. If you haven't done so already, why not book a campus visit?
When Can I Apply for Accommodation?
Applications for 2022/23 are now open and you can apply for University-managed accommodation once you have made the University of Lincoln your firm or insurance choice.
For students looking to book accommodation for the next academic year, you will be notified in autumn as to when the accommodation booking system is open.
How Do I Apply?
After you have made the University of Lincoln Lincoln your firm or insurance choice, following this, you will receive an email from the University's Accommodation Services Team containing a link to the University of Lincoln's Student Portal. Here, you can apply for your top residences in order of preference.
For students looking to book accommodation for the following academic year, you will be notified in autumn as to when the accommodation booking system will open.
Is There An Option to List My Room Preference?
Absolutely. Once you have been reserved a building, you will be required to make a £49 down payment. At this stage there is the option to put down any special requests such as your room location in the building, or the people you would like to live with. Our team will try to consider your requests when allocating you a room.
I Live Close to Lincoln, Can I Still Apply?
Yes. You can apply for accommodation no matter the distance of your home address.
What Is Included?
All University-managed accommodation bedrooms are fitted with furniture including a bed, desk, wardrobe, and shelving. Beds at Lincoln Courts are single, and all other residences are a small double (three-quarter).
There is a range of cleaning equipment provided:
- Hoover
- Mop and bucket
- Dustpan and brush
- Iron and ironing board
- Some residences have a broom
There are also a range of kitchen appliances provided:
- Kettle
- Microwave
- Bins in bedrooms and kitchens
- Toaster (Lincoln Courts only)
Getting Ready to Move FAQs
What Do I Need to Bring?
There are standard items that you will need to bring with you when you move, such as bedding and towels, cleaning products, and cooking implements but many students like to bring items that will help to personalise their rooms such as plants, books, a favourite mug, decorative cushions, and posters.
When Will I Find Out What Room I'm Allocated?
Students will be notified of their room allocation in spring. Offers may be sent out by residence or block, so please do not worry if you hear that someone has been sent their room information before you. You can stay up-to-date by following our official Accommodation Services on social media: @unilincoln / @unlincolnaccommodation.
When Will I Receive Arrival Instructions?
Arrival instructions will be uploaded to the University of Lincoln Student Portal in late August/early September. You will receive an email letting you know that these have been uploaded, as part of the online induction.
The arrival process, for students in all years of study, will take places across set days and you will be asked to book an available arrival slot in advance.
Please read the instructions carefully as you may be asked to head to a holding area or to a car park which has a different postcode to your accommodation.
What Is the Online Induction?
The online induction includes important details around health and safety, registering for your content insurance, and booking your arrival slot. It will be uploaded to the University of Lincoln Student Portal and must be completed before you arrive.
When Can I Move In?
The Accommodation Services team is finalising arrival dates for 2022. All Semester A students will have moved into their accommodation by Saturday 25 September 2022 when the University Welcome Week begins.
For students studying a healthcare course, starting on Monday 19 September 2022, separate arrangements will be made and communicated in due course.
Will There Be Parking Available To Unload My Belongings?
Your booked arrival slot will secure you a car parking space to offload your belongings and move into your room. If you wish to park for longer, the team will direct you to the nearest car park.
Current Resident FAQs
How Do I Report If Something Is Broken?
If you think that something in your accommodation is faulty or broken, please report this to the Accommodation Services Team by contacting one of the following:
Emailing residences@lincoln.ac.uk, visiting the reception in your building, or via Plannon.
If you have an out of hours emergency repair, please call the University's Security Team on 01522 886062.
How Do I Chat With the Residence Life Team?
If you're looking for support from one of our Residence Life Team, whether you're just looking for a friendly face to chat with about living in Lincoln, or are in need of someone who will know where to signpost you to appropriate University support services, our dedicated Residence Life Team is here for you.

How Much Does Laundry Cost?
To wash and dry your clothes in the on-site University launderette, this costs between £2.50 to £3 per load which can be paid for using a pay-as-you-go card or via the Circuit mobile app.
