Usage guidelines

Do's

  • Used for facts or statements
  • Can be used on all pages
  • Can have optional labels - Up to three labels can be added. Each label can either be a text field or a hyperlink
  • Keep the main text limited to straplines or short sentences
  • Ideally aim for one highlight block per page, but if not possible then use sparingly as too many highlights will diminish the impact.

Dont's

  • Does not contain images
  • No ability to change the border colour
  • Don't overuse this on a single page as too many highlights will diminish the impact
  • Don't enter too generic text into the aria-label field. This field is primarily for screen readers to give context to the link so needs to be descriptive.

Examples

The following examples show the varions of how the fields can be used with this content type.

The Block - Highlight content type has the following fields:

  • Fact Number (e.g. 'Top 10' or '87%' or 3rd)
  • Optional Title (will not be displayed if the Fact Number field is used)
  • Mandatory Fact/Statement
  • Three optional Labels. The labels can be either just text or hyperlinks. If they are set as hyperlinks then they can be linked to internal/external/files. If the hyperlink is set to be a file then a file icon is displayed.

Optional Fact

This highlight example has the 'Fact Number' field populated. This means that the title field won't be displayed. All three labels are set - label 1 is just text, label 2 is a normal hyperlink, label 3 is linking to a pdf in the media library (the icon is set automatically).

Optional Title

This highlight example has the 'Fact Number' field left blank which means that the 'Title' field can be displayed. All three labels are set - label 1 is just text, label 2 is a normal hyperlink, label 3 is linking to a pdf in the media library (the icon is set automatically).

Optional Fact

This highlight example has the 'Fact Number' field populated. This means that the title field won't be displayed. None of the three optional labels are set.

This highlight example has the just the text. None of the other fields are populated so theare is no 'Fact Number', 'Title', or any of the three optional labels.
