This bursary, offered by Lincolnshire based donors, aims to offer additional support to students who were residents of the Lincolnshire area prior to application and also meet the University of Nottingham's Widening Participation criteria.

When is it available?

This is currently an open bursary. The on-going availability of this bursary will be dependant on the funds available and will be reviewed each year.

Scholarship Amount

The bursary is offered at a value of up to £2500 per year for up to a period of 5 years (any extension to this will be at the discretion of the School and based on available funding). The bursary offer will be dependent on the number of eligible students and the funding available in any given academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for this bursary must:

  • Have registered and commenced on the course
  • Be in their first year of study on the course
  • Have been permanent resident in the Greater Lincolnshire area (as evidenced from UCAS application) prior to taking up a place on the course
  • Meet the University of Nottingham's Widening Participation criteria
  • Fulfil the normal academic requirements of the course.

How and When to Apply

Applications for this bursary should be made after students have commenced on the programme.

An application form will be sent to eligible students from the Lincoln Medical School administration office.

Applications will be reviewed, endorsed, and the outcome confirmed in writing.

If successful, the donors providing the funds will be informed and beneficiaries may be invited to meet with them.

Payment

If eligibility is confirmed, the bursary will be paid automatically, in one instalment by bank transfer for each year that the student is eligible for a payment. This will usually take place in Semester 2 of each year. You will receive this payment via the University of Nottingham.

The bursary will be payable subject to satisfactory attendance and academic engagement to the course during the first semester.
