Applicant Visits 2015

Offer Holder Days

Offer Holder Days are invitation only events, aimed at successful applicants who hold an offer with the University of Lincoln.

We understand that choosing the University you want to attend is a life-changing decision, which is why we recommend that as an offer holder, you experience one of these days.

Offer Holder Days provide you the opportunity to:

  • Experience the course you are interested in through a subject-specific activity
  • Have face-to-face time with tutors
  • Meet current students
  • View Accommodation, Sport and Leisure facilities
  • Take a campus tour
  • Speak to support staff
  • Meet other people who are applying for the same course
  • Ask questions
  • Take time to see the City of Lincoln

Please note:

Some courses require applicants to attend an interview. Interview details will be sent out by the relevant School directly to applicants.

If you book to attend an Offer Holder Day less than 72 hours before the event then please be aware that all communications regarding confirmation of the booking will be via the email address provided at the time of booking.

Why should you attend?

Offer Holder Days are a great chance for you to meet other applicants who hold offers on your chosen course. You can meet lecturers who may be teaching you in your first year and find out more about the programme content and structure.

It’s also a great chance for you to meet with current students and hear about their experiences, learn some top tips and get advice on anything from where is good to go out, what it’s like to be a student and what academic support the University of Lincoln offers.

What’s the difference between an Offer Holder Day and an Open Day?

If you came to an Open Day you will have gained some first impressions of the University from what you saw and the academic team you met. The Offer Holder Day is all about building on that, taking more time to get to know the lecturers and getting a better feel for the course and the University of Lincoln. It’s also a great opportunity to meet our current students and most importantly applicants that may be on your course.

Do I have to book a place?

We would prefer that you did book to attend an Offer Holder Day, but we will always welcome walk-ins if you haven’t had time to book.

Can I bring anyone with me?

Yes. We know that family play an important role in supporting and helping you make an informed decision about your next steps. We actively encourage family members to get involved in the activities we plan for you on Offer Holder Days.

We also have a session running for family members, which takes place whilst you are in your subject taster session.

What will my Offer Holder Day look like?

As an Offer Holder you will be provided with a bespoke programme for the day, which will include course-led activities. Parents & guests that wish to attend will receive a separate timetable. Both programmes include a welcome from the Head of School, an opportunity to visit the Advice Zone where you can find information on various services such as accommodation, admissions and student support, and time for tours of the campus and the City.

What happens if I can’t make any of the dates?

If you are interested in visiting the campus but are unable to make one of our Offer Holder Days our Informal Tours may be a suitable alternative for you.
