Helping your Business Fly

At Lincoln, we're dedicated to helping great business ideas get off the ground to become successful start-up enterprises.

Since our award-winning Sparkhouse business incubation centre was established in 2003, it has supported more than 300 new businesses to find their feet.

Sparkhouse provides an environment that gives new businesses access to specialist support services, knowledge and facilities. Its office accommodation offers stepped rental packages with access to training seminars and workshops, networking events and a range of other business support. It can also provide virtual tenancies for new businesses that want to benefit from support services but don't need physical office space.

Enterprise Building

We have collaborated with businesses that we would not have had the opportunity to work with had we not been resident in Sparkhouse. My business continues to grow and the support I’ve received at Sparkhouse has been invaluable.

Business Incubation

Sparkhouse, the University of Lincoln’s award-winning business incubation centre, is designed to give you the space and support you need to get your business up and running.

New and young businesses can benefit from the supportive and collaborative culture within the centre, which is alive with innovation and creativity.

Sparkhouse offers a range of start-up and grow-on office spaces, as well as virtual tenancy options for new businesses that do not need physical offices but could benefit from support services, such as mail handling or use of meeting rooms.

As home to our dedicated Business Incubation Team, the centre also acts as a gateway to training, advice and mentorship programmes for new business owners.

More than 50 small businesses operate out of Sparkhouse, spanning a range of creative and technology businesses. Tenants choose from stepped, inclusive rental rates, covering essentials like broadband, phones and electricity.

The nearby Think Tank is the University’s hub for more established businesses in creative and technology sectors. These might be tenants moving on from Sparkhouse or companies seeking a new base from which to achieve future growth ambitions.

Both Sparkhouse and Think Tank aim to provide new and expanding business with the environment they need to grow and succeed, whether that’s through a physical or virtual tenancy, access to training workshops and expert guidance, or opportunities to network with like-minded entrepreneurs.
