Special Events

As a registered member of the Alumni Network, you can opt to receive special invitations to events such as receptions, exhibition openings, guest lectures, and networking opportunities. These may be held on campus, across the UK, and around the world.

Past international events have been held in Athens, Berlin, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, and Chongqing. Locations for alumni events in the UK have included MediaCity in Manchester, the National Liberal Club, Santander headquarters in Regent's Place, and the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London.

Fusing academia and creativity with industry insights, the programme offers students the opportunity to develop their skills and build a portfolio with support from an academic coach and professionals in the publishing industry. Teaching on the course is enhanced by workshops, readings, and masterclasses by acclaimed authors from a range of genres. Past speakers have included Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, naturalist Chris Packham, and art historian Andrew Graham-Dixon.
