New Medicine Students

Welcome to Lincoln Medical School

Welcome!

We're absolutely delighted that you’ve chosen to join us at the University of Lincoln - and more specifically, at Lincoln Medical School to begin your journey studying Medicine

We are looking forward to welcoming you, as both students at Lincoln Medical School and citizens of Lincoln. We are committed to helping you to keep safe and ensuring that you make the most of the opportunities that studying Medicine offers.

You may be wondering what happens next, so we have summarised a few things below that you need to be aware of at this point. This webpage will be updated over the summer with more in-depth information for applicants who have been successful in receiving a place with us for September 2026. For now, please use the drop-down menus available below and if you have any further queries, our contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Getting Started

When is the start of term?

The start of term is Monday 21st September 2026. This is for students studying both MBChB Medicine and MBChB Medicine with a Gateway Year.

Accommodation

As a new Undergraduate student, you are guaranteed an offer of a room if you make an application before 1st August 2026. Information about the accommodation process and how to apply can be found on the Accommodation Services website.

If you have any questions or queries about accommodation, you can contact the Lincoln Accommodation Team via accommodation@lincoln.ac.uk or 01522 886300.

Occupational Health and DBS Clearance

As part of the conditions of your offer, you will need to complete a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and Occupational Health screening.

Occupational Health

Over the summer, you will receive an email from OPAS-G2, our Occupational Health provider. This email will contain a pre-course health questionnaire that you must complete as part of the course requirements. It is essential that you complete this questionnaire as soon as you receive it - if you do not complete it, you will not be able to begin your studies. Once you arrive on campus, you will attend scheduled Occupational Health appointments. These will be compulsory and will vary depending on the type of appointment you require.

DBS Clearance

Your offer to study MBChB Medicine is conditional upon a DBS check. After your results have been confirmed in August, you will receive email communication from Atlantic Data, our DBS check provider, which will guide you through setting up your account. Please complete all necessary actions as soon as possible; delays in completing your DBS may affect your start date on the programme.

Disability Support

We are here to support the University community in creating an inclusive and equitable teaching and learning environment to the benefit of all students. Our specialist service provides student-led support to enable disabled students to flourish as independent learners. We are here to help you if you have a disability, mental health difficulty, long-term medical condition, autistic spectrum condition, or a specific learning difference such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia or ADHD.

We are committed to supporting all disabled students and want to make your experience of university an enjoyable one. To help us do this, please contact us prior to your arrival to let us know using the contact details below:

Students' Union Membership

As a student at Lincoln Medical School, you will have the opportunity to join the University of Lincoln Students' Union (ULSU). You will be automatically opted in to joining the ULSU after enrolment. If you wish to opt out, please contact preference-updates@lincolnsu.com.
