School of Education

The School of Education is a vibrant and intellectually stimulating environment in which staff have developed national and international reputations in their areas of expertise and are committed to the advancement of knowledge and its application in all fields of education.

The School of Education offers two undergraduate courses: Education (BA) and Education and Psychology (BSc). Exploring the four pillars of education (philosophy, history, psychology and sociology), these courses are designed to provide a foundation for future study or work in the field of education.

We are fully committed to developing outstanding teachers who, as soon as they enter the classroom, are able to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and attainment. To achieve this, we work with the Lincolnshire SCITT and the St George’s Academy Partnership, to offer primary and secondary PGCE School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programmes which combine professional practice with cutting-edge educational research.

In addition, we offer a Master’s in Education, a PhD in Educational Research and Development as well as a PhD (Professional) in Education.
