Support Lincoln with a Gift in Your Will
We are grateful that you are considering a gift to the University of Lincoln. Whatever you want to achieve from supporting ground-breaking research, to providing student bursaries, a gift in your will is a way of continuing to make a difference to future generations at Lincoln.
Legacies can be used to support many different aspects of the University's work, and we would be happy to discuss with you how you would like your gift to be used. Unrestricted legacies to The University of Lincoln’s charitable fund allow us to support the areas of greatest need, both now and in the future. If you would prefer to identify a particular area for support, we would be happy to discuss this with you to ensure that we can meet your wishes. These areas may include the Lincoln Medical School, a specific academic School or College, the University Library, a student scholarship or bursary, or even a University building.
The University of Lincoln is an exempt charity, meaning that gifts to the University of Lincoln are exempt from Inheritance Tax in the UK. This means that a gift from you can reduce the amount of any tax payable out of your estate. It is also currently possible for your other beneficiaries to receive a further reduction in Inheritance Tax if you leave at least 10% of your net estate to charity. Exempt Charity number: XR20664
We encourage you to speak to friends and family, or a solicitor, about your decision. Your gift is as unique as you, and your solicitor will be there to guide you through your decisions. Your gift can be as much or little as you like, from specific items all the way through to residue of estates, full estates, and cash gifts.
