Subject Talks and Hubs
An important part of the Open Day experience is getting a flavour of your preferred subject area. During the day, you can meet with academic staff and students on our subject stands, attend subject talks and activities, and explore specialist facilities specific to your chosen course.
We recommend you prioritise timetabled activities to get the most from your day. A full list of subject talks, hubs, and their locations is available below.
Visit the Information Zone
The Information Zone is located in the Engine Shed and is the main base for our Open Day. You can visit our information stands and speak to staff from key services including Admissions, Fees and Funding, Student Wellbeing, Careers, Global Opportunities, and our Students’ Union.
In addition to the main Information Zone, there are also Information Points located around campus where you can drop in and learn more about the University’s accommodation, library, and Sports Centre.
Tour Our Campus
A great way to get a feel for student life here at Lincoln is by joining a guided campus tour led by one of our brilliant Student Ambassadors.
The tours will run from 1pm until 4.30pm, with the final tour leaving at 4pm. There’s no need to book a slot – they’ll run approximately every 15 minutes so just pop along when you are ready. They will depart from outside the Engine Shed and take just under an hour on foot, so make sure you fit your tour around any timetabled talks or subject sessions you want to attend.
View Our Accommodation
The Open Day provides the chance to view University accommodation up close and see where you could soon be calling home. Our show flats are open from 12.15pm until 4.45pm and include Cygnet Wharf, Lincoln Courts, and St Marks providing a good overview of the range of options available. Just use the campus map and then follow the signage to stop by at any time during the event.
Our campus tours also point out our accommodation on route and you can chat to our Accommodation Services Team in the Skål Tipi.
Explore the City
Lincoln is one of England’s great heritage cities, and as we’re located at the heart of it all on the picturesque Brayford Pool waterfront, it’s a great location from which to explore the city during an Open Day. You might want to stop for lunch in the bustling Cornhill area just off the High Street, browse some of the boutique stores on the Strait, or stroll up Lincoln’s famous Steep Hill to the historic Bailgate area where you’ll find the castle and magnificent Lincoln Cathedral, the venue for our graduation ceremonies. What’s more, all our Open Day guests can take advantage of discounted entry to the cathedral with tickets for just £5. Find out more on our Offers page.
