MA Art and Design Research
MA 9-24 months (full-time) 18-36 months (part-time) Lincoln School of Art and Design LincolnIntroduction
This new programme offers the opportunity to undertake a considerable independent research project in the fields of Art and Design.
Teaching & Assessment
Independent research work is supported by individual supervision with a named supervisor and students should expect to submit a scholarly thesis within the duration of the programme. With the agreement of the Research Degrees Board, practical work may replace a part of the written thesis, forming the MA by Research by Practice.
A personal development plan, training needs analysis and concluding oral examination (viva voce) will support the research process.
This programme of study confers a research degree (as opposed to taught masters) and opportunities exist to transfer from this programme on to other, higher research degrees.
Careers
Many of our graduates have gone on to pursue careers as practising artists and designers or have continued their research by registering for advance PhD study upon successful completion of the MA.
