MPhil/PhD Architecture - Research Opportunities
MPhil/PhD 3 years full-time Lincoln School of Architecture Lincoln Degree in Architecture or cognate subjectIntroduction
Opportunities exist in the Lincoln School of Architecture to undertake supervised research for the degrees MA/MSc via the University’s Learning Contract Scheme, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The active research base in the School ensures that staff are involved in current debates and that students are made aware of new developments and issues.
Research students normally have two internal supervisors with specialist knowledge of their subject areas, and they have regular meetings with them for advice, monitoring and other support. Students are introduced to the relevant research methods through taught units and they are encouraged to give presentations to postgraduate seminars, which are held regularly throughout the year. They are also encouraged to apply for funding to attend conferences and to publish in conference proceedings and in refereed journals. Exceptional students may have an opportunity to contribute to teaching within the School.
