Students will receive their results on Thursday 17th August 2006, and those who have not managed to get a place at a university of their choice will get a second chance through the Clearing system.
Clearing is the final stage of the UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) applications process and exists to help students who are still without a place in higher education after receiving their results.

“A-level results day can be a worrying and stressful time for students and we do our best to make things easier for them by offering friendly and helpful advice,” said university spokesman Jez Ashberry.
