The University of Lincoln’s International Concert Series continues this weekend with a performance by two internationally acclaimed musicians.
The concert by Imogen Cooper and Sonia Wieder-Atherton will take place on Sunday 11th January 2004.
Each renowned in her own right as a soloist, the two have been playing together since 1997.
Imogen Cooper is one of the world’s most respected pianists. In addition to her recital schedule she plays regularly with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors.
French-American cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton is considered one of Europe’s finest and most original musicians.
The French Academy of Fine Arts awarded her the Del Duca Grand Prize in 1999.
They have recorded works by Rachmaninov, Franck and Fauré on the RCA Red Seal label which achieved great critical acclaim.
The performance promises to be a brilliant showcase for both instruments.
All concerts in the series start at 3.45pm at The Lawn after a pre-concert talk at 3pm.
