Students from the University of Lincoln in Hull will discuss latest human resource issues with local professionals in a workshop next week.
Representatives of the Humber branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) will join staff and students from the Human Resource Management course.
The CIPD is the professional body for those involved in the management and development of people.
The workshop will take place at 12.30pm on Monday 26th January 2004 in the boardroom at the Derek Crothall Building, George Street.
“The workshop is a very good forum for students and CIPD members to come together,” said organiser Jane Thompson, a senior lecturer in HRM at the Hull Centre for Management Development.
“The CIPD is very supportive and they have given the students much encouragement.”
The workshop will also give students currently on placement the opportunity to meet final-year students.
“Students on placement will be invited back to the university to meet staff and finalists to share experiences and prepare for their final year,” said Jane.
“Over the past five years the university has been organising this sort of event. We believe it is very important that students share their experiences – providing networks and contacts.”
BA (Hons) Human Resource Management is a CIPD accredited course.
