A leading economist from the Bank of England will give listeners the low-down on the UK economy later this month.
Professor Charles Bean, Chief Economist at the Bank of England and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee which sets interest rates, will speak at the University of Lincoln on Thursday 20th November.
His talk comes a week after the publication of the bankís latest Quarterly Inflation Report on Wednesday 12th November which sets out the detailed economic analysis and inflation projections on which the bank bases its interest rate decisions.
Charles Bean has been Executive Director and Chief Economist at the Bank of England since 1st October 2000. In addition to his membership of the Monetary Policy Committee he is also is responsible for the Monetary Analysis and Statistics Divisions of the Bank of England
Tea and coffee will be served from 5.30pm and Professor Beanís presentation will begin at 6pm in the Cargill Lecture in the main academic building at Brayford Pool.
An open discussion involving members of the audience will follow the presentation and the proceedings are expected to finish by 7.30pm.
