The Chairman of Lincoln College will be honoured by the cityís university at Lincoln Cathedral later this month.
Reg Green will be given an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration at a university awards ceremony on the evening of Tuesday 29th July 2003.
Mr Greenís association with Lincoln College dates back a quarter of a century. He has served on a large number of college committees and is presently Chairman of the Board of Corporation.
He is also Chairman of the East Midlands Region of the Association of Colleges.
Mr Green was born and educated in Lincoln, and after two years of National Service he went on to work for a total of 43 years for a number of companies including Amalgamated Anthracite Holdings, Redland Group, British Fuels Group and British Polythene, where he held a number of senior management positions.
A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and an Associate of the Society of Company Accountants, he also has experience of a range of disciplines, including business strategy, operational management, personnel, negotiation and marketing.
During his career he has been a member of various trade associations and was Chairman of the Chamber of Trade at Gainsborough while resident in the area. He has also been Chairman of both the Lincolnshire branch and the Anglian branch of the Chartered Institute of Management and served on the instituteís national committee for six years.
Since retiring he has served for six years as a lay chair working under the NHS Complaints Procedure.
The University† of Lincoln and Lincoln College (then North Lincolnshire College) signed a unique partnership agreement in 2001 to develop new foundation degrees and to validate new HE courses at the Monks Road campus.
The awards ceremony at which Mr Green will be guest of honour begins at 7.30pm on Tuesday 29th July at Lincoln Cathedral.
