Two Dutch students at the Lincoln School of Art & Design have won second prize in the ‘Frame’ short film awards.
Johan van Gerwen (22) and Yannick van der Aa (20) came second with their short animation ‘Stop Consuming’ which is based on the theme of globalisation.
The pair, who are studying the final year of their Graphic Design, Photography and Video degree at the University of Lincoln, will see their film screened at the Broadway Cinema in Nottingham early next month.
‘Stop Consuming’ will be screened as a short film to follow the documentary ‘Life and Debt’ on a date to be confirmed between the 2nd and 8th May.
Another Lincoln School of Art & Design student is celebrating after he was selected as a finalist in the student section of the prestigious National Picture Editors’ Awards
Chris Vaughan (17), a third-year National Diploma Photography student who also works as a freelance photographer for the Lincolnshire Echo, is one of four students shortlisted for the Corporation of London’s Student Award.
“Chris’s fantastic achievement reflects his continued dedication and artistic creativity in the field of press photography,” said his tutor Keith James.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony in the Great Hall of the Guildhall in London on Monday 12th May.
