Hundreds of University of Lincoln employees will be looking round The Deep on Friday in what will be the venue’s biggest corporate visit yet.
Over 800 university staff and relatives have signed up for an exclusive tour of the £45.5m submarium, Hull’s newest international tourist attraction.
The university’s Staff Social Association has arranged discounted admission and refreshments on the night – and the response has astounded university officials.
“We thought there would be a lot of interest in the trip as The Deep is clearly a fantastic experience,” said the university’s Hull marketing officer Nick Sandham.
“But we certainly didn’t expect 800 people to sign up – we’ve even had to organise a coach to bring Lincoln-based staff up to Hull for the evening.”
The response has been so enthusiastic that another visit evening has had to be arranged to cater for the staff members who were unable to get tickets for this Friday’s tour.
And already 100 people have expressed an interest in coming along.
“The future for The Deep looks really bright if the interest remains as strong as this,” added Mr Sandham.
Prof David Chiddick, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, will give a brief introduction to the evening visit, which begins at 7pm on Friday (19th April).
